“Angela Merkel at 12 o’ clock high Ginger!”
The Royal Air Force last night announced, that as part of the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of The Battle of Britain, a squadron of Lancaster bombers with an escort of Spitfire and Hurricane fighters will drop bombs and incendiaries on various cities in Germany.
A Ministry of Defence spokesman said last night: “What better way to commemorate our finest hour and to honour the brave pilots who so nobly defended our shores from the Hun than to give the blighters a bloody nose and a sharp reminder of who’s best when it comes to war”
Our American allies are also expected to take part, sending a number of vintage B24 ‘Flying Fortresses’ to assist in the bombing of Cologne, although there was an unfortunate ‘friendly fire’ incident yesterday during rehearsal when 5 of their aircraft accidentally destroyed Norwich.
This move comes just a year after the Scots celebrated their victory at The Battle Of Bannockburn by sending 2000 Highlanders across the border where they massacred 25 shoppers in the Carlisle branch of Tescos.
